Ketchup Blog ~ TV, Decorating, & Secret Projects

Well, Gentle Reader, it has been a bit since I waffled on at you about everyday life. I know, so exciting for you, but some days my mind is filled with mundanities and frankly that's all I can manage to blog about. One cannot be deep and witty all the time. (Do you feel the great sticky ooze of sarcasm from that last line?)

So What Is On Miss Gail's Plate Covered in Ketchup?

I rarely watch TV (I find, for me, it kind of sucks my creativity out) except when I'm not working on a new project. Since I've been editing for the past month I got to watch a few things in the evenings. I got caught up on the last seasons of Downton Abby, Project Runway, and Top Chef. Which, I realize, is a pretty clean insight into my personality: costume drama set in UK high society meets fashion meets food. I'm so darn predictable.

The Ladies of Downton

I turned my OCD eye to the apartment as well, ours is tiny and there isn't much I can do with it, but that hasn't stopped me from obsessively moving pictures around and cooing over unnecessary rugs and new couches on the internet. (Curse you Apartment Therapy!) In the end, I altered my desk set up at home to match mine at the office, which is to stay standing desk with WellnessMat. I started writing standing up about six years ago, and now I appear unable to stop. I also got attached to the cutest little mouse and board arrangement with leather pad, of course. Is it wrong that what I like most is the clacking sound my new keyboard makes? I feel so efficient as I type.

The New Old Desk in its New Old Spot

WorldCon planning has been taking up a deal of time. In addition to my programming schedule, there's all the other stuff that fills in the gaps, meetings, drinks, more meetings, more drinks, meetings over drinks, you know the drill.

I have two new short stories coming out that needed attention. One I'll be putting out myself in ebook form, and one will be coming out in a special edition anthology. More on both of those soon.

Lastly, I have a Secret Audiobook Project that I've had stewing on the back burner for a while now which is finally going to actually happen. Again, more to come on that. I don't mean to be mysterious but with other people involved, I need to respect their time and wait until things are ready to present. However, I have to go ahead to tell you more at WorldCon, so those of you who see me there with get the juicy juicy gossip early.
