Octopus on the Spine and Other Delights

I got to see the proof of the full cover for Soulless today, and I am absolutely delighted. They put a little pink octopus on the spine. In my world almost nothing could be more wonderful, with the possible exception of Thai soup.

I'm not allowed to broadcast said cover to the web just yet, but I can't resist the little octopus, so I snuck him into today's extra special Infusion of Cute.

Urbane Fantasy Anyone?

Carrie Vaughn just created the term urbane fantasy, I love it. The Parasol Protectorate series totally fits the idea of urbane fantasy. I wonder if she'd mind if I borrowed it? Reminding one of say, vampires in cravats sipping Pink Slurps (blood mixed with champagne).

In other news, Gentle Reader, the cover has been decided. Orbit is going to do a "making of an urban fantasy cover" blog on it, then I can post the finished product here. Soon!

Blurbs and Other Thrills

I actually had a dream about my book launch party last night, Gentle Reader. In the dream, everything went well. It was sort of like a combination wedding and baby shower, which, if you

And, big excitement, perhaps even a bounce or two about the room occurred, as I just got my first blurb from Angie Fox of ACCIDENTAL DEMON SLAYER fame. She was very complementary and darling about SOULLESS. Thanks Angie! I was called, a hem, wickedly funny. I blush.
